Galen Wells
Galen Wright Wells' political involvement in Norwalk is only the latest effort in her long history of dedication to Democratic causes. Galen began her work for the party in Minnesota, where she backed antiwar candidates and served a term as chairman of the 4th District Democratic Farmer Labor Party. She moved to Westport in 1980 and soon became active in women's political groups. She was chair of the Fairfield County Pro-Choice Voter group and a member of the Steering Committee for IMPACT, a progressive Women's PAC. She's been in Norwalk politics since she moved here in 1996. She worked on the campaigns for Mayor Alex Knopp and State Sen. Bob Duff and previously served as Secretary of the Town Committee. She also served on the Zoning Commission. An attorney, she was real estate counsel at American Standard Inc. and vice president and senior counsel at First Nationwide Bank. She currently practices at an office in Norwalk.
