Rep. Chris Perone Appointed to Board of Mid Fairfield County Child Guidance Center

"Influencing children's lives in a positive way, that's what this appointment is about," said State Rep. Perone.

State Representative Chris Perone (D-Norwalk) is happy to announce being named to the Board of Trustees for the Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County. The Child Guidance Center (CGC) offers a full-range of prevention, evaluation, and treatment services to address virtually every facet of a child's psychological, behavioral, and emotional health.

Rep. Perone said, "This is a great honor to be named to the board of the Child Guidance Center. The work they do in the area of children's developmental health is well known throughout the state and I am looking forward to working with the board to help them reach their goals."

The Board of Trustees is comprised of approximately 20 volunteers who have an interest in children's mental health.

"The Child Guidance Center of Mid Fairfield County is pleased and honored to have Representative Chris Perone join the Center's Board of Trustees," said CGC Executive Director Stuart Greenbaum. "His interest in the well being of our community's children and families and his contributions in the legislature fit well with the Center's mission and goals."

CGC services are offered to families with children up to age 18 from Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Weston, Westport, and Wilton. Children from throughout the state are accepted for specialized services that are not available in their own communities. The average age of the child for which services are rendered is nine, reflecting a focus on the need to identify problems for early intervention.

Christopher Perone is serving his first term as State Representative from the 137th Assembly District. He is a member of the Environment, Higher Education and Transportation committees.
