Remembering Sylvia Siegel
by Donna King Sep. 13, 2006 On a brilliant September Sunday in Norwalk, well over 100 people gathered to remember Sylvia Siegel at the Norwalk Public Library. Sylvia and Phil's daughter Nancy and two sons Jon and Steve gathered with their children and family members to enjoy memories with old friends from Sylvia's Norwalk life. Phil seemed genuinely pleased to see everyone and he is in good spirits. Sylvia was active in so many aspects of the Norwalk community and representatives from a wide range of organizations came together for a few hours of smiles, conversation, and music to celebrate a life well lived. The League of Women Voters remembered Sylvia in song. Democrats said thank you to both Sylvia and Phil for their long years of volunteering for 'the cause'. Friends, co-workers, family members and so many others were anxious to remember a life of smiles, hospitality, good cheer, loyalty and many quiet talents. Sylvia and Phil spent over 40 years in Norwalk, raised and educated their children here and made a real contribution to the quality of life here. Sylvia, we miss you. ### |
