Face of America Ride 2007

Dear Friends,
I am excited to announce that I will be participating in the Face of America ride again this year. Many of you will remember that I did this ride last year. It is a two day ride, April 28th and 29th, starting in Gettysburg and finishing in Washington, DC. The ride is in honor of the war veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
World T. E. A. M. Sports is the organization behind the ride. This organization is committed to integrating injured and disabled athletes with able bodied athletes. T. E. A. M. stands for The Exceptional Athlete Matters. I will be riding side by side with veterans that have lost the use of their legs, and some that have lost limbs altogether.
Last year I had the opportunity to meet some remarkable individuals. I witnessed their resilience and dedication to continue to live life to the fullest. Those who lost their legs rode on hand pedaled bicycles. One amazing young man, you've heard me talk about before, lost three limbs in the war just last year. He rode a hand pedaled bicycle using his one remaining arm and a mechanical arm.
For me, this ride is a way to support these soldiers even though I do not support the war.
The money I raise will go towards supporting those veterans that participate in this ride. It gives them the opportunity to maintain the self-image of an athletic individual, something I know I would want if I had disabling injuries.

In closing, I want to thank all of you who have continued to support all the causes I have cycled for in the past. We all have passions and causes that are close to our hearts, and I so appreciate your helping me support those that are close to mine.
