State Rep. Chris Perone October 30, 2007 Representative Chris Perone (D-Norwalk) hailed the passage of state bonding as beneficial to, "the city of Norwalk and the state as a whole." The recently-passed package includes over $3 million in flood relief for the city, as well as $450,000 for a new roof at Norwalk Community College. "After working very closely with Democratic leadership over the past few months, I am very pleased to be able to announce that the city of Norwalk will finally see some substantial flood relief funding," Rep. Perone said. "This relief will be the first step in a long process of ridding this city of its perpetual flooding problems." The bond package, which was approved by a vote of 128-1, awaits Governor Rell's signature. The governor has indicated that she will support the package. In addition to the benefits to Norwalk Community College, the package contains major school aid all over the state. "Obtaining funding for a new roof at Norwalk Community College was an initiative that I refused to allow to go unnoticed," said Rep. Perone. "It is very important that after this long process that education is finally going to get the funding they need." Rep. Christopher Perone is serving his second term representing the 137th Assembly District of Norwalk. He is Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee, and is a member of the Education and Transportation Committees. ### |
