Representative Perone Announces Nearly $11,000 Grant To Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center For New Roof

State Rep. Chris Perone (D-Norwalk) announced today that the State Bond Commission is poised to release $10,950 in funding for the Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center (MFCGC) in Norwalk during their scheduled meeting next Wednesday. The money is slated to go towards the construction of a new roof for the facility.

"The services that the Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center provides are invaluable to not only the city of Norwalk, but our region as a whole," Rep. Perone said. "I am very pleased that I was able to work with the House leadership to get this group the new roof it desperately needs."

The present roof at the MFCGC is over 20 years old and has several leaks that allow water to enter the building. Additionally, the wooden infrastructure is rotting and its shingles need to be repaired.

"This money will go a long way in ensuring that the MFCGC has the adequate facilities they need to be able to continue to do the excellent work that we have all been accustomed to seeing," said Rep. Perone.

The MFCGC specializes in prevention, treatment and evaluation of numerous psychological, behavioral and emotional problems that children may suffer from. Though the average age of a child treated is nine-years-old, the group treats patients up to 18 years of age.

Rep. Christopher Perone is serving his second term representing the 137th Assembly District of Norwalk. He is Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee, and is a member of the Education and Transportation Committees.
