CONNECTICUT Artists and Authors rally together to host OBAMA FUNDRAISER

Many of Connecticut’s outstanding artists and authors are banding together to contribute original paintings, prints, photographs, and jewelry on behalf of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, Sunday, October 26th at the Charter Oak Cultural Center, 21 Charter Oak Avenue, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Hartford, Connecticut. Notable authors including Wally Lamb, Minerva Neiditz, Leta Marks, will be on hand for book signings.

Internationally-renown Irish violinist, Martin Hayes, will be performing at 3:00 pm. Connecticut artists including Cathy Doocey, Patricia Carraigan, Jillian Malicki, Tim Wengertsman, Kathi Packer, and many other notable artist have donated their works for sale, some will be present to share in the festivities. The entrance fee is $25 for adults and $35 for families.

All proceeds from the event will target the mobilization of votes for Obama for President campaign in battleground states.

“The number of artists, authors, musicians and photographers who have committed their works to this event is extraordinary. There is no better demonstration of our collective belief in Senator Obama’s  ability to move our country forward”, said Wayne Erskine, one of the event organizers. “Everyone - adults, families, young, and old are welcome to enjoy the art, books, music and festivities”, he added.
